The sculpture, "Solace," is a robust figure of a woman very much at ease with herself. This is conveyed through posture more than it is through anatomical detail or psychodrama. Both feet are planted firmly on the ground and on them her weight is evenly distributed. This gives a sense of security and self-confidence. Unashamedly, she reveals her body in a long, gentle, convex arc. Proudly, her head tilts upward and in private solitude, she stands unconcerned with the world about her.
