This sculpture was commissioned as a memorial bust and installed on October sixth, 2000, in the Chuck Wight Gymnasium at the Charles Wright Academy, Tacoma Washington. Chuck Wight, who was killed in Viet Nam in 1968 was a superb athlete, a brave soldier and above all a gentle, fun-loving person. My challenge was to convey these attributes in this portrait of him.
