From the moment of our conception, fulfilling life is a constant effort that we naturally accept. An integral part of this effort is our struggle to evolve from one state to another. This can be as simple as physical maturity, as complex as social development, as profound as conscious awareness, or as final as death. Whatever the challenge, we must face it alone and courageously accept the outcome. "Metamorphosis," is about the solitary challenges life is made of. In this sculpture I merged human, animal, and mineral elements into a whole. Through the emerging sentience of the human element we feel the lonely ensuing struggle to persevere.
